Happy lady: Londoner Louise Redknapp, who has just given birth to a baby today

Londoners are more pleased with themselves than anyone else in the country, research shows.

Following interviews with more than 2,000 people across the UK, 43 per cent of Londoners said they felt good about themselves - four per cent more than the national average.

The report was commissioned by the Cosmetic Toiletry and Perfumery Association to examine the link between self-esteem and well being.
