Potter spell will lift Argonaut

HARRY Potter magic will prove a major boost to Argonaut Games on Monday when it unveils sales figures for its PlayStation game based on the popular character.

It developed the computer game version of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone for US publisher Electronic Arts, which said this year it had sold seven million copies across all hardware platforms. Analysts expected Argonaut's share of the sales to be about 1m copies, but they are thought to be more than twice that.

This would be a fillip to Argonaut's finances after it opted to take a smaller advance to develop the game in return for a bigger share of royalties on each game sold
