£11.5m lights up Thames river tunnels

TWO Edwardian foot tunnels under the Thames are to be illuminated with coloured lights in an

The Grade II-listed walkways between Greenwich and Woolwich on the south bank and Docklands on the north are used by 1.5 million people a year.

The tunnels, which suffer leaks, will be shored up, glass domes at their entrances repaired, and CCTV coverage improved. Greenwich council hopes work will be finished by next March.
