Rohypnol - the facts

- Rohypnol is the brand name for Flunitrazepam and is still prescribed to one million people around the world for sleeping disorders
- It has 10 times the strength of valium
- Rohypnol leaves the blood stream after 36 hours and is not detectable in urine after 72 hours

- Victims given the drug report feeling forgetful, and subsequently unable to remember what happened
- A Home Office report in June 2000 questioned 123 victims of drug-assisted sex assaults and found that 70 per cent of the rapists were known to the victim. Twelve per cent of victims were given the drug in their home
