Savills looks abroad as profits soar

13 April 2012

UPMARKET estate agent Savills is aiming at the international playgrounds of the rich with a sun, sea and surf package.

New homes are being sold from Dubai, 1,800 sites at The Palm, to the Provence country club's 170 properties in France, 750 at Arc 1950 Ski Village in the French Alps and 10 units at Villa Nova in Barbados.

At home, Cornwall is included in Savills' recently-formed international team with 511 apartments for sale at the Carlyon Bay new development.

Savills' 2003 pre-tax profits surged 43% to £35.3m, beating expectations after a pick-up in sales in the second half. The dividend is increased 36% for the year to 13.6p.
