SBS blow as finance chief quits

12 April 2012

BOMBED-out IT recruiter SBS has lost its finance director shortly before the end of its financial year. Steve Simmonds, 46, has left with immediate effect. The accountant, who has spent much of his career in the recruitment industry, was appointed last September.

SBS shares, floated on the Alternative Investment Market five years ago at 100p, peaked at 357 1/2p at the height of the technology recruitment boom fired by millennium bug scare stories. But the collapse in the IT market and the recent recruitment freeze in the City has seen its shares sold down to 11 1/2p.

The company, which had losses at the half year to £606,000 having fallen £3.6m into the red last year, made no comment on his successor.
