Serious allegations against headmaster

12 April 2012

A headmaster at a London school has been suspended after serious allegations were made against him by a whisteblower.

Barking and Dagenham council relieved Mark Lloyd of his duties at Barking Abbey School, described by Ofsted as 'outstanding', after receiving a letter from a parent alleging he was involved in illegal activities.

The council says there are "a number of matters of concern" which they are examining.

A spokeswoman said: "We are aware of the contents of the whistleblower's letter but for obvious legal reasons we are unable to comment on allegations made in this way."
