Seven die in gunman's rampage

A man in Ohio shot and killed seven people including his girlfriend and her brother.

He was then killed in a shoot-out with police yesterday. Witnesses said at least one of the victims was a child. Police said they did not have a motive for the killings, which began at about 11am in Copley, a small town west of Akron.

The gunman apparently shot his girlfriend at home, her brother and four others next door and two others after a chase. One victim is in hospital. Two victims were said to be high school students and another was only aged 11.
