Sexuality 'decided before birth'

Our sexuality is determined before we are born, "hard-wired" into the brain, according to new evidence.

Using the "startle response" or eye-blink tests, researchers at the University of East London subjected both straight and gay test subjects to sudden noises.

Dr Qazi Rahman said there were clear differences between the groups. "The startle response is pre-conscious and cannot be learned," he said, which adds weight to the view that sexual orientation is inborn, not learned.
