'Shop killing' men in court

Two men are appearing in court today charged with the murder of a London shopkeeper. Mahmut Fahri died from knife wounds after he tackled two suspected robbers at his off-licence in Wood Green on 21 December.

Davinder Minhas Singh, 43, and Abdul Qadeer, 25, both of Buxton Road, East Ham, were charged with murder yesterday. They will appear at Stratford magistrates' court.

Turkish-Cypriot Mr Fahri, 59, of Palmers Green, was a grandfather of three.
