Signs of trouble for property prices

Property prices will suffer when councils across London get powers to bolt street lamps and traffic signs to the walls of private homes without permission, estate agents warned today.

It is part of a government proposal to cut "street clutter", but it is believed councils could face legal action by homeowners, who would get 56 days' notice and could be compensated.
