Singer & Friedlander on rise

SHARES in bank and asset manager Singer & Friedlander look set for further advances as Sigurdur Einarsson, chairman of Icelandic bank Kaupthing Bunadarbanki, hunts acquisitions in Britain and the US.

The Icelanders first appeared on Singer's register on 27 October with 5.96% of its equity and now hold 18.4m shares or 9.48%. The shares have risen in the same period from 180p to Tuesday night's close of 204 1/4p.
