Sir Michael Parkinson wins right to silence

Sir Michael Parkinson has won a long battle to stop a 24-hour car hire business disturbing his neighbourhood.

Campaigners including Parkinson complained that the noise of car horns and guard dogs, as well as security lighting on the site, were a "menace" in Bray, Berkshire.

Owner Shakil Iqbal has been given three months to shut the business by Windsor and Maidenhead planning officials. He plans to appeal.
