Six people were taking to hospital after a bus collided with a stationary lorry in Kensington High Street this morning.

The number 27 bus, which was travelling towards Chiswick, went into the back of the Waitrose delivery wagon at around 6am this morning.

The collision happened at the junction of Kensington High Street and Earls Court Road.

London Fire Brigade, London Ambulance Service, and the Metropolitan Police were all on scene.

A police spokesman said: "Six people were taken to hospital, but they are not in a serious condition.

"Enquiries continue, and road closures are in place."

A spokeswoman for London Fire Brigade said nobody was trapped in the bus, but fire crews attended to make the scene safe.

A spokesman for London Ambulance Service said: "We sent three ambulance crews and a duty officer to the scene.

"We treated three patients, one for an ankle injury and two for minor injuries, who were taken to hospital."

Ken Davidson, TfL’s Head of Bus Operations said an investigation was underway into the cause of the incident.

He said: “At around 5.50 this morning a route 27 bus, operated by London United Busways Ltd, was involved in a collision with a lorry at the junction of the A315 Kensington High Street and Abingdon Road, W8.

"Emergency services attended the scene. There will be a full investigation into the incident.”
