A builder shot dead his two bosses in a café in Spain today after being told he would be out of a job after Christmas.

Pere Puig Punti, 57, then drove to a bank and killed a deputy manager and a cashier. He told police "Now I'm satisfied" as he was seized in Olot, in the province of Girona.

Punti shot Joan Tubert, 62, and his son Angel, 35, in the bar, the owner of which, Guzman Sanchez, said: "There were nine or 10 other customers who dived for cover when he started shooting. I dived behind the bar. It was terrifying.

Deputy bank manager Rafael Turro, 40, was a father of girls aged four and eight, and cashier Anna Pujol, 50, was a mother of one and a grandmother of one.
