Taste the New Year fireworks

10 December 2013

Spectators will be able to taste and smell London’s New Year’s Eve fireworks this year as the city hosts the world’s first “multi-sensory” display.

Sections of the crowd along the Thames will be able to experience a series of fruity flavours as they watch the show. Expert Sam Bompas said: “We realised nothing of the sort had been attempted before and that the concept of a multi-sensory firework display would be a genuine world first.”

Food scientists Bompas & Parr will create the effect, the details of which are being kept secret until December 31.
