Texts to coax City staff outside

12 April 2012

Office-bound City workers will be able to sign up to a text service encouraging them to leave their desks and eat their lunch outdoors.

Corporation of London chiefs are concerned that Square Mile workers spend long hours indoors, often arriving and leaving in darkness.

The texts will remind them of options outdoors and events in the City in the hope of reducing stress levels and improving health.

A spokeswoman said: "An example would be: 'Daffodils are flowering in Finsbury Circus, have a look'." The service will be trialled this year to start next spring.
