The return of Debbie Harry

Indira Das-Gupta12 April 2012

The tide is high for Deborah Harry at the age of 55, but in the words of the Blondie hit she is holding on.

The singer formerly known as Debbie Harry, who will turn 56 in two months, was dressed in a miniscule mini and a black corset over a see-through net top as she performed at Soho nightclub G-A-Y.

Harry belted out a selection of her greatest Blondie hits last night.

The nightclub where Harry performed is the country's most popular gay nightspot and has played host to performances from major acts such as Hear'Say and former Boyzone singer Stephen Gately.

In London she is also performing with her current band, the Jazz Passengers - a far cry from her 1970s pop heyday when she and her band Blondie exploded out of the New York punk scene to produce such classics as Hanging On The Telephone, Picture This and Atomic.
