Thomson losses hit £3.2m

MEDIA monitoring outfit Thomson Intermedia put a brave face on another year of losses, reporting a marked pick-up in sales in the new year and a reduction in its cash burn rate.

The downturn in the advertising industry led to pre-tax losses of £3.2m in the year to 31 January against £2.9m the year before.

The value of contracts signed 'fell well short of expectations', said joint chief executive Sarah Jane Thomson. But business in the first two months of the new year rose 127%.
