Top head who still finds time to teach

THE headmaster of a 134-year-old London prep school was celebrating today after being named the best in his category.

Patrick Mattar from Norland Place School at Holland Park still takes classes to make sure pupils see him as a "human being" as well as a head.

The 44-year-old won the best head of a prep school category in the Tatler Schools Awards 2010. He said: "As the head it is important to keep contact with the pupils and to know them."
