Trial "fugitive" behind bars

12 April 2012

An east London man who was jailed by a judge in his absence after skipping bail is now behind bars.

A number of tip-offs from the public led police to Maurice Joseph O'Leary, 55, from Wanstead, who was on conditional bail during a court case at Snaresbrook Crown Court. He was sentenced to four years in jail.

He was found at an address in Ilford, Essex, and is now also serving an extra six months for skipping bail.
