Tributes paid to 'my daddy, my hero, our hero'

The 17-year-old son of a soldier killed while on patrol in Afghanistan paid an emotional tribute to "my daddy, my hero" at his funeral in Deal, Kent, today.

Sergeant Robert Loughran-Dickson, 33, of the Royal Military Police, died of gunshot wounds last month after fighting near his base in Nad e-Ali.

His son, also called Robert, said: "He's in a better place now.

"We will all miss him as an incredible person, my daddy, my hero, our hero."
