Tussaud's unveils jubilee tribute

The Queen stares fixedly ahead in full royal finery, the hint of a regal smile playing around her lips.

But this is not our monarch lining up for another official engagement - it is the latest addition to Madame Tussaud's, unveiled today.

It is the 22nd time the Queen has been immortalised in wax by Tussaud's - she was only two when she was first depicted as Princess Elizabeth, in a lace-trimmed white dress.

This time, in her golden jubilee year, the velvet rope that traditionally keeps visitors at a respectful distance will be removed, allowing people to pose for pictures with her wax double.
