Uncle held over boy's pitbull death

The uncle of a four-year-old boy savaged to death by an illegally-held pitbull was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter today.

Christian Foulkes, 21, was held this morning. His nephew John-Paul Massey was being looked after by his grandmother when the dog, now proven to have been a pitbull, attacked at her house in Wavertree, Liverpool, on Monday.

The child died from his injuries. Foulkes, understood to have recently joined the Army, had been away training.
