Unlucky for some... Three winners miss out

12 April 2012

Three lottery winners have failed to claim their million-pound prizes.

Camelot said the money from the EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle had gone unclaimed for more than 180 days and would now go to good causes.

The prize winners on November 12 last year were from Ealing, Blackburn, and Stoke-on-Trent. The deadline to claim their cash was at 5.30pm yesterday.

A National Lottery spokeswoman said they tried hard to find the ticket-holders. "To avoid this unfortunate situation happening again, I would urge all players to check their tickets on a regular basis. It's a real shame that they have missed out but there is still one winner - the nation.

"This money, and all the interest earned over the 180 days, will now go to the Good Causes - adding to the £25 billion already raised and distributed to over 350,000 individual awards that have benefited people, communities and projects across the UK."
