Versailles verdict can be majority

JURORS in the trial of Carl Cushnie, founder of collapsed trade finance group Versailles, have been told they no longer need to reach a unanimous verdict.

Justice Rupert Jackson said he would accept a majority decision by at least ten of the 12 jury members as they began a third week of deliberations.

Cushnie denied Serious Fraud Office charges of conspiring with finance chief Fred Clough to defraud banks and investors. Clough pleaded guilty and testified against Cushnie during the four-month trial.
