Video shows Britons in suicide blast

A video of two British Muslims who carried out a suicide bomb attack on a bar in Israel was released today.

In the film Asif Hanif, 21, from Hounslow and Omar Khan Sharif, 27, from Derby, deliver a tirade against Israel and speak of the "pride" they would take in killing Jews.

The "farewell" video was released by the militant Palestinian organisation Hamas. It claimed responsibility for the first time today for the attack on Mike's Place, a popular seafront bar in Tel Aviv.

Last April Hanif blew himself up at the bar, killing a waitress and two musicians. Fifty more customers were injured. Sharif 's explosives apparently malfunctioned and he fled.

His body was washed up on a nearby beach two weeks later. An Israeli pathologist said he had drowned. The video was released a day after Israeli troops killed 14 Palestinians in a raid of a Gaza Strip refugee camp. The film was seen as a warning by Hamas that it can slip bombers from Gaza into Israel despite stringent security measures.

The video was unusual because Sharif delivered his speech in English. Normally, militants in such videos read a few brief words from the Koran.

Sharif and Hanif are wearing fatigues and carrying assault rifles. Sharif, commenting on a farm destroyed by Israeli troops, said: "You spend the whole day in fields and then some dude comes with his truck and runs over it. How would you feel? You feel like standing him up, shooting him."
