Desperate foodies seeking tables at the Harrods pop-up version of The French Laundry restaurant will have to call a booking line in California within a three-hour window exactly four weeks before the day they want to eat.
The complex booking system has been designed to stop a chaotic sell-out as soon as the line opens tomorrow for the 10-day re-creation of the three Michelin-starred Napa Valley destination.
A £250 nine-course tasting menu will be served at lunch and dinner in the 70-seat venue from October 1 until October 10.
Reservations can be made only between 5pm and 8pm on the dedicated booking number 020 3059 6498, which automatically redirects to The French Laundry reservation office in California.
