What the deal will earn

MPs and government auditors will scrutinise the fine-print of the deal to see exactly how much money the Government can expect to recoup. The total cost of the Dome has soared to more than £800 million, with the vast majority of it "public" money either from the Treasury or Lottery cash.

Ministers can be expected to receive a much lower figure than the £125 million they would have got had they accepted the offer from the Legacy consortium and they are not expected to receive anything until the revamped Dome goes into profit.
