A pedestrian has told how he was run over by Michael Schumacher as the former F1 champion drove a van through the Kent countryside.

Martin Kingham, 39, was knocked to the ground by Schumacher, who was on way to his private jet on Sunday. Police breathalysed him after the accident but he was allowed to leave after the result was negative.

Mr Kingham said: "It was unbelievable. He came from behind me to overtake two old ladies in a Fiat. When I realised who had hit me I thought I had concussion."

Schumacher, is believed to have been filming a television commercial for Fiat. His agent, Sabine Kehme, said: "There was a collision but nobody was injured. Michael cooperated with police. There is nothing else we wish to say."
