Woman beaten in sex attack

13 April 2012

A woman was choked unconscious twice and beaten so badly she needed reconstructive surgery to her face, the Old Bailey heard today.

The 38-year-old woman agreed to go back to Carlos Silva's flat in Islington, north London, but found herself driven to a park in Stockwell, south London.

There, the 6ft 6ins burly Silva thrust her over a fence after midnight and ordered her to strip.

During a three-hour ordeal the woman was ordered to perform a sex act and set upon when she threatened to leave, said Michael Logsdon, prosecuting.
He said: "He strangled her to unconsciousness."

When she began to recover, he did it again until she blacked out.
The woman eventually came round to find she had extensive head and neck injuries.

In hospital, it was found she had a fractured cheek bone and eye socket amongst other injuries.

Judge Christopher Moss said: "She was lucky to survive."

He told Silva: "You subjected your victim to a dreadful attack with great violence and brutality."

Silva, 32, of Stockwell, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent and was sent to a mental hospital without limit of time.
