Woman 'drugged City men'

A woman lured two City businessmen to their homes with the promise of sex before "putting them out for the count" with the date-rape drug Rohypnol, a court heard today.

Then, as they lay semi-naked on their beds, Selina Hakki, 37, stole thousands of pounds of property including designer clothes and expensive watches, it was claimed.

One of her alleged victims, banker Volker Vogler, who had been celebrating his birthday when he met the woman in the rooftop bar of London's Park Lane Hilton, said he remembered nothing from the moment he collapsed until mid-morning the following day.

"The lady had gone and I felt very dizzy. I could hardly walk. I almost fell over as I was going to the bathroom and I had to get support on the walls," he told London's Middlesex Guildhall Crown Court.

"With a hangover you just feel tired. But this was different. I was out of control."

He said although he did his best to go to work, he almost collapsed outside his Knightsbridge apartment, and only just managed to make it back to his bed before passing out once more.

It was only after he was awoken late afternoon by a phone call that he realised some of his property had been stolen.

"There were the clothes I had been wearing that evening - a pair of black Versace jeans which cost £100 and had £100 in the pocket, and a Versace jumper - three pairs of quite expensive shoes, and my Omega watch, which cost £850."

Mr Vogler said he then discovered his £250 Tiffany alarm clock was gone, as was a bottle of red wine.

Hakki, of Gale Street, Bow, east London, denies two counts of "unlawfully caused to be taken... a stupefying or overpowering drug, matter or thing, namely Rohypnol, with intent thereby to enable herself to commit an indictable offence, namely theft."

The others are alternative charges relating only to the alleged thefts.
