Rihanna and Sienna Miller are trying to make bleached brows a thing

Will barely there brows catch on?

OK, so we’re the first to admit that when we saw Rihanna descend on the Met Gala red carpet on Monday clad in her killer – and controversial – bejewelled Maison Margiela bishop's cape and hat, our first thought was not her eyebrows.

But, once we had “ooh-ed” and “woah-ed” over her outfit and finally got around to looking at her face, we noticed something was not quite the same. Something looked a little off-kilter.

Why? Because Rhi-Rhi’s makeup artist, Damone Roberts, had actually bleached her eyebrows to a few shades lighter than their normal colour.

Anyone who’s ever applied eyebrow makeup will know the usual approach is to try to match your pencil (or gel or mascara) to the colour of your eyebrows, or even go a shade darker.

But Roberts used her own Brow Powder in Ginger and Brow Highlighter in Stone Cold Bitch to give Rihanna a frown in a lighter brown than her natural colour (the rest of her face was entirely Fenty, natch).

Initially we thought Rihanna’s brow game might just be part of the general OTT madness of her look.

But then Sienna Miller arrived rocking almost entirely bleached brows, and we began to wonder if this could be the next big ‘thing’.

Makeup artist Wendy Rowe appears to have taken Miller’s brows to a super blonde shade that allowed the gaze to wander from the actress’s pixie-like face straight up to the crown of twinkling diamonds that adorned her head.

Bleach brows are certainly not for the faint of heart, but there’s something rather delicate about a paler shade.

Would you give the look a whirl?
