The YouTube beauty guru community is up in arms again, as Jeffree Star and Shane Dawson’s brand new documentary series and product launch has reportedly ignited another influencer feud. Fans of Star as well as beauty YouTuber Tati Westbrook believe that the pair may have fallen out, as Star appears to have unfollowed her on Instagram.

While neither Star or Westbrook have directly addressed the controversy, their subscribers have started to speculate about what might have prompted it. One popular theory is the fact that Star and Westbrook are both dropping highly anticipated make-up, which may have caused a rift between the pair.

Although Westbrook might be a YouTube veteran with two thousand videos under her belt, she dropped her very first make-up collection last Friday titled Tati Beauty.

Star’s upcoming make-up collaboration with Shane Dawson is called the Conspiracy Collection and is slated to drop November 1, which remains relatively close to Westbrook’s launch. Star, who owns his own beauty brand, is also working with Dawson on a docu-series called The Secret Life of Jeffree Star which details the process of the YouTubers building the collection together to promote it.

Fans have since speculated that the fact that the make-up collections are technically competing with one another for sales has caused tension, with one calling it “tough competition”.

A Twitter user speculated, “Oh so Jeffree and Tati fell out because Jeffree wouldn’t move the date of the Shane collab away from the launch of Tati Beauty…”

Another theorised, “I’m guessing it’s because she told him she would be launching this around the time that the Shane pallette [sic] comes out, and he didn’t like that.”

Although Westbrook has previously taken to waxing lyrically about Star’s previous product launches and promoting them across her own channels, some fans noted that Star hadn’t returned the favour after her collection launched last week.

One user wrote, “Why are @shanedawson and @JeffreeStar not supporting or giving shoutouts to Tati for her makeup line?! What happened?!”

Another said, “It makes me sad Tati has always supported Jeffree Star giving him praise. Now it’s her time to shine and he unfollows her and doesn’t congratulate her. He inserted himself into the whole drama.”

A few fans have also shared screenshots of Star reportedly blocking them, with one allegedly blocked user claiming that Star “blocks anyone who talks about Tati”.

Currently, Westbrook is still following Star on Instagram and neither have addressed the rumours. This is the second high profile YouTuber that Westbrook is believed to be feuding with, as earlier this year Star ironically supported her when she fell out with make-up YouTuber James Charles. (Star later softened his position on Charles, saying that he “didn’t fully understand” and “jumped the gun” when he took Westbrook’s side.)

Westbrook recently spoke to E! News about her new collection, although she did drop what appears to be a pointed barb at an anonymous individual. She recounted how she and make-up artist Scott Barnes, who congratulated her on the line, told her, “We're going to really show the industry that two powerhouses can actually come together instead of stabbing each other in the back. They can support each other and it's going to be the actual message of beauty.”

“I'm really excited about that and I'm really excited to show that that can be done, that we both can have success,” she continued.
