The Governors Awards on Sunday evening saw stars including Jennifer Lopez, Scarlett Johansson and Lupita Nyong’o more step out to honour their A-list colleagues in glamorous outfits.

Hustlers star Jennifer Lopez, who is tipped to receive an Oscar nomination for her role as scam queen Ramona, wore a strapless mustard Reem Acra gown for the event. The dress, which trailed along the floor as she walked, also featured an oversized bow detail on the back. She paired the look with diamond accessories and a braided updo.

She also snapped a quick video from inside the event, where her Hustlers co-star Constance Wu could be seen sitting at the same table as they raised their glasses in a quick cheers.

Avengers star Scarlett Johansson stepped out in a sharp one shouldered gold and black Celine gown, which featured a cut out and open back detail that displayed her tattoos. Perhaps in homage to her time as a superhero, she also donned Wonder Woman-esque golden cuffs and finished off the look with dangling earrings and pointed heels in the same shade.

Mad Max star Charlize Theron went with a minimal ensemble by Tom Ford - a white ballgown skirt and draped black top.

Renee Zellweger was elegant in a black bardot gown, which featured crystal embellishments. Zellweger kept the makeup to a minimum as she posed with a box clutch, with a single barrette styled in her hair.

Saoirse Ronan’s black and white gingham jumpsuit by Emilia Wickstead was a modern homage to her upcoming role in Little Women, with the Irish star plaiting her hair back.

Lupita Nyong’o wore one of the more unusual dresses of the night, opting for slate grey halter neck Givenchy dress with neon green and red floral appliques. Combined with icy blue eyeshadow and a dark mulberry lip, she was later reunited with Us director Jordan Peele.
