Journalist Ronan Farrow and Pod Save America host Jon Lovett have typically kept their relationship under wraps - but now, the political power couple is officially engaged and Farrow is sharing how he proposed.

Farrow, who is the son of Woody Allen (although there have been rumors that his real father is Frank Sinatra) and Mia Farrow, popped to question while he was writing his latest book, Catch and Kill.

Catch and Kill documents the #MeToo movement Farrow helped expose when he exposed the sexual misconduct allegations against Harvey Weinstein in The New Yorker. In his book, he discusses how Harvey Weinstein’s attorneys would kill controversial stories about him.

Farrow, 31, wrote about proposing to his podcaster boyfriend in Catch and Kill - which is what he used to ask.

“Later, when I decided some of that reporting would make its way into a book, I’d send him a draft, and put in a question, right on this page: ‘Marriage?’” the Pulitzer Prize-winner wrote. “On the moon or even here on Earth. He read the draft, found the proposal here, and said, ‘Sure.’”

The couple met after Lovett left his job as a presidential speechwriter for Obama in 2011. He now hosts Pod Save America, a liberal political podcast.

Farrow appeared on Pod Save America on Monday and talked about his relationship with Lovett, saying, “You can imagine at a time when I'm losing my job, when I am getting lawsuit threats that are coming - not at a news organization, because I was abandoned by a news organization, but at me personally - and when I'm increasingly suspicious about a conspiracy to surveil me... what a ball of stress I was and what a pain I was to be in a relationship with.”

“If I hadn't had him and the brave sources who were taking such huge risks, in my ear saying, 'Hey, this matters, this matters, we matter’... things might've been very different, and those stories might not have broken,” he aded.

They’re typically quiet about their relationship but Farrow did share a photo of them on Instagram in August for Lovett’s 37th birthday. Lovett's Instagram profile is private.

Farrow's Instagram commentary was typically low-key. He wrote, "He's okay, I guess!"
