TikTok star Addison Easterline, better known as Addison Rae, has issued an apology for posting an All Lives Matter video four years ago.
She stepped away from social media on June 30, but has now returned to express her remorse at sharing anti-BLM content in the past.
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, Addison wrote: "I owe all of you an apology.
"Four years ago, I reposted a video which included a woman sharing her thoughts on Black Lives Matter and All Lives Matter that I should not have."
She continued: "Because of my privilege, I didn't understand and wasn't educated enough on the social injustices facing the Black community.
"All lives CANNOT matter until Black lives do."
The social media personality, who is friends with Kourtney Kardashian, then went on to say she acknowledges her "mistake" and that she is "committed to learning from them".
She ended the Tweet saying: "I am truly sorry and I am committed to using my platform you all have given me to work on becoming a better ally."
The video in question that Addison shared four years ago referred to the Black Lives Matter movement as a "cult" that does "more harm than good".
Addison Rae, who has almost 50 million followers on the short video app, shared a TikTok post in May this year in response to the death of George Floyd, an unarmed Black man who was killed in police custody after being arrested for allegedly using a counterfeit $20 bill.
She lip-synced to Macklemore's 'Same Love', the lyrics of which include: "I might not be the same/ But that's not important / No freedom 'til we're equal / Damn right I support it."
She also included contact details for the Minneapolis Mayor and District Attorney, as well as GoFundMe links for George Floyd's family and captioned the post: "If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor."
