Down the hatch: The New Punch

10 April 2012

We've drunk our way through the Pimm's and shared more bowls of punch than we can count.

Summer has only just begun but we need a new drink to get stuck into. We reckon it's time to bring out the jugs of Sangria.

This Sunday, Regent Street turns into a great traffic-free Spanish food festival so it's a great opportunity to wander down with some mates and seek out the Spaniards' summer tipple, a mix of red wine, fruit, brandy and sugar.

As part of Taste of Spain, the Below Zero restaurant and ice bar in Heddon Street are selling two glasses of Sangria and a food platter for £15 while anyone buying a map in the National Geographic Café gets a free glass of the stuff.

Last but not least is Tibits, a vegetarian restaurant tucked into a corner on the same street and laying on Sangria and Spanish wine for the day.
