Burberry boss Christopher Bailey checks out with gifts to three LGBTQ+ charities

The outgoing president of Burberry is to dedicate his final collection to LGBTQ+ communities with symbolic rainbows featuring in his designs.

Christopher Bailey, 46, who joined the house 17 years ago and has been chief creative officer since 2009, has included the LGBTQ+ rainbow across his final February 2018 collection.

Perhaps the most significant will be the new Rainbow check, the latest version of Burberry’s famous print. All of the Rainbow pieces will be available to buy immediately after the show in London on Saturday.

Taking to Instagram Bailey explained, "my final collection here at Burberry is dedicated to and in support of - some of the best and brightest organisations supporting LGBTQ+ youth around the world. There has never been a more important time to say that in our diversity lies our strength, and our creativity."

The brand has donated funds to three LGBTQ+ charities — the Albert Kennedy Trust, the Trevor Project and The International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association.

Bailey has also released an album of music taken from his catwalk shows featuring the likes of Adele and Elton John.
