Christmas campaign: the model channelled a sultry vibe during the shoot

After appearing as the first solo face of a Topshop campaign for this season's AW14 line - an accolade even Queen Moss hasn't snapped up - we have finally been shown the shoot of Cara Delevingne in full-blown Christmas mode... fairy wings, feathers and all.

A big fan of the high street brand, Cara turned down the Harper's Bazaar Women of the Year awards this week in favour of the Topshop New York store opening.

The model’s first appearance for the brand was in 2010 when she featured in a Kate Moss Topshop campaign video, and her immersion into the family continued when she walked for Topshop Unique at the SS13, AW13 and SS14 shows. The star was then revealed in June as the face of the AW14 collection, and has now been confirmed as the Christmas campaign angel - a fiercely foxy one at that.

Speaking of the brand's collaboration with the model, Topshop owner Philip Green commented: "At such an ambitious and exciting time for our many thousands of staff and loyal customers, it is fitting to have a fabulous, young British star such as Cara at the epicentre of our campaign."

Topshop's creative director, Kate Phelan, is equally excited about the partnership, describing Cara as "a true Topshop girl."

"Her style is confident and playful and she can be sophisticated and chic as easily as she can be cool and casual. Putting her spin on everything she makes the Topshop, collection her own. Her uninhibited natural energy is intoxicating, she is free spirited and fun."

In a video accompanying the campaign Cara shows off that famous personality, contrasting vastly with the sexy, smoldering stills from the shoot. She is seen singing, dancing and mocking herself in an display of endless sparkle as it opens with the star declaring: "Happy Holidays! … Why was I waving like that, that’s very lame, sorry."

While playing with Christmas baubles, candles and a pair of boxing gloves, the fun-loving beauty shows off the brand's typically on-point festive collection. Featuring feathered, gold and sequined dresses (separately, might I add. There is such thing as too much festive cheer), Topshop have hit the Christmas nail on it's sparkly head with the perfect balance of tasteful indulgence.
