While most may keep an eye on the event for betting tips and gripping finishes, many find the glamorous crowds at Cheltenham races among the the biggest highlights.

And while the 4-day festival plays host to a number of eye-catching looks, it is Ladies Day that garners the most attention thanks to its guest list of sartorial risk-takers.

Days - and pounds - spent shopping for the perfect outfit followed by nights spent with their hair in rollers - it is no wonder Ladies Day is so widely anticipated by not only the attendees but also those who missed out on a ticket.

The morning's early arrivals certainly didn't disappoint, with adventurous headpieces and toe-curlingly brave heels making their way into the festival.

With the weather slightly friendlier than it threatened to be, heels remained intact and mud-free and brollies remained at ease.

Offering up a zesty colour palette, attendees boasted an array of hues with tangerine orange and fuchsia pink proving earlier winners.
