The stars were painting the town red at last night's EMMY Awards.

Claire Danes looked light years away from her not so glamorously dressed Homeland alter ego Carrie Mathison. The 35-year-old chose a lace Givenchy dress with a belted waist and finished the glamorous look with some rouge lips.

Minnie Driver may have failed to win the award for Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie at the star studded event, but she certainly wowed in a Marchesa gown with a plunging embellished neckline as she posed for photos on the red carpet.

Sweeping: Heidi Klum looked every inch the model in her floor length Zac Posen gown

Christina Hendricks, also got the scarlet memo and picked a satin one-shoulder Marchesa gown with gold leaf patterned detailing on the waist.

Model Heidi Klum chose a verging on coral Zac Posen number with short batwing sleeves and small trail.

Dramatic: January Jones stole the attention in a sweeping patterned gown

But it was Mad Men actress January Jones who stole the show in a dramatic patterned strapless gown. The large dress with black detail looked huge against the actresses slight frame and would most definitely have won an award for the night's biggest dress.
