TODAY

Suits Ewe

While most of us need no excuse to crawl into a thick, squishy jumper, this week you can do so while also showing your support for Wool Week. Now in its third year, the Campaign for Wool — of which the Prince of Wales is patron — is dedicated to raising the profile of the natural fibre as a sustainable and stylish substance. Of the many woolly activities taking place in the capital — Harvey Nicks is wrapping its Knightsbridge store in 100 metres of yarn, while Savile Row becomes a grazing ground for both sheep and well-tailored gents — the latest addition is the Wool School which sees fashion students collaborating with retailers such as Topshop (pictured, £48, topshop.com) and John Lewis to create a range of wool-rich sweaters. Join the flock. (campaignforwool.org)

TOMORROW

Run, forest, run

For some, jogging is a chance to blow away the cobwebs and think. Japanese designer Jun Takahashi is one of them and his latest collaboration with Nike focuses on “the art of running”. His Autumn Monks collection is equal parts nature and technology, with high-performance fitness attire printed with fallen-leaf camouflage and lots of clever layering to keep the wind at bay. (£225, nike.com)

WEDNESDAY

Story Time

Fashion’s finest storyteller opens his latest exhibition at Somerset House today. Tim Walker’s display — supported by Mulberry — features more than 175 images of his most sensational works and marries some fanciful duos, such as Karen Elson with an inflatable alligator and Rollo Hesketh-Harvey in a plane made of bread. It’s the stuff of fashion dreams. (Open to the public from Thursday, somersethouse.org.uk; timwalkerphotography.co.uk)

THURSDAY

Student finance

Future design stars are out in force today as the London College of Fashion opens up shop. Returning for the second time to Carnaby Street’s Kingly Court, the college shop will play host to one-off designs from recent graduates in womenswear, menswear, footwear and accessories. Opening from tonight for just two weeks, the store will also feature items from more established alumni, including Ada Zanditon, Joseph Turvey and Domingo Rodriguez, as well as last year’s favourites Para Manko and Rosie McGuinness. Stock will rotate on a daily basis, so you’ll have to head down there sharpish to snap up this stunning silk dress by Jennifer Morris. (prices from £20; Kingly Court, Carnaby Street, W1)

FRIDAY

To market, to market

Designers Simone Rocha and Atalanta Weller have done their bit for their borough by illustrating a range of canvas shoppers for Love Hackney, Shop Local — an initiative that encourages residents to support its markets. London Fashion Week designer Simone Rocha lives and works just behind Ridley Road Market; it was there that she got the inspiration for this print, and it is there that it becomes available today. Just spend a tenner on any stall that bears the campaign sign and pick yours up for free. (hackney.gov.uk/shop-local)
