Peter Pilotto are best known for their extravagant use of colour - but the design duo today surprised the fashion week crowd by opening their show with monochrome pieces.

Today’s standout spring selection is one of the finest the Belgian duo has ever produced and marked a move into cleaner and possibly more feminine territory.

On day four of London Fashion Week, Christopher De Vos and his partner Peter Pilotto revealed beautifully cut straight trousers featuring delicate leaf and Florentine frescoes, teamed with structured blouson tops with flute sleeves and cutaway panels. The silhouette was thoroughly modern. A knee-skimming skirt length lent the collection a contemporary edge and served as a breath of fresh air to press and buyers. Peter Pilotto are known for their ability to create crowd-pleasing collections and today’s offering was no exception.

Certain to delight a loyal fan base which includes Samantha Cameron and Kate Bosworth, a series of beautifully cut dresses saturated with vibrant colour lent this show its high point.

Today’s hottest fashion week tickets include Scottish designer Christopher Kane and Australian born Richard Nicoll. Anya Hindmarch will unveil her latest accessories offering tomorrow, as fashion week ends.
