It may have been her hosting debut, but Gigi Hadid didn't let nerves get in the way of turning the occasion into her own personal runway.

Following on from a long line of American Music Awards hosts who have changed mutiple times during the ceremony, Hadid clocked up a total of 6 looks - a mere drop in the ocean when compared to last year's host Jennifer Lopez who went through 15 outfits.

However, on the pre-show red carpet, Hadid admitted that she never planned on rivaling J.Lo's AMA wardrobe.

"We did our research and J.Lo's team told us to do less changes. I'm going with about half, but they're great looks and they're going to get a good amount of time."

She wasn't wrong, and the 6 looks have certainly got people talking.

Arriving on the red carpet for the evening, the 21-year-old model stepped out in a white lace Roberto Cavalli couture gown which featured a Bardot neckline and layered fringing on the bodice.

She then changed into a metallic red, one-shoulder dress by Atelier Versace with a thigh-high split and cut-out detailing across her torso.

The young host then gave a double-nod to Welsh designer Julien Macdonald by changing into a set of embellished separates - first worn by her friend Hailey Baldwin on the designer's SS17 runway - before swapping it for a pale tan coloured Julien Macdonald crocodile-print dress.

Moving on from pale hues, Hadid then plumped for a black turtleneck dress with deep keyhole detailing to the front and a high central leg-split.

For her final look, Hadid chose a more relaxed vibe in a sheer jumpsuit with sparkle detailing and a drawstring waistband
