What Were You Thinking? Henry Holland launches first podcast

And it's as celeb-packed as you can imagine

Fashion designer Henry Holland has launched his first podcast in partnership with luxury re-sale site Vestiaire Collective.

What Were You Thinking? is a ten-episode series which sees a slew of celebrity guests - including Alexa Chung and Beth Ditto - chat about the stories behind some of their best-loved looks and pieces that have inspired and informed their life stories.

Each of the 10 fortnightly featured guests will also be invited to donate one pre-loved item to be sold through the platform – with all commissions and proceeds going to the charitable cause of their choice.

Following each episode, Holland will create a bi-weekly edit of pieces reflective of the guests’ style.

“I’ve spent the last 15 years working in the fashion industry, but I’ve been obsessed with the transformative power of fashion for way longer than that. Fashion’s so much more than what you wear to stop yourself getting arrested for public indecency," Holland says.

"Every single one of us makes choices day in, day out about what we put on our backs and in turn how we want to be seen by the rest of the world. The clothes we wear really do help to tell the story of our lives."

Holland began his career as a fashion journalist before starting his own House of Holland label which launched with humorous slogan t-shirts that both poked fun at and paid homage to fellow designers and other celebrities. Emblazoned with sayings like: ‘UHU Gareth Pugh’, ‘I’ll tell you who’s boss, Kate Moss’ and ‘Get Your Freak On Giles Deacon,' the brand had a regular slot on the London Fashion Week schedule and collections with Debenhams and Habitat.

In March, as the pandemic hit, Holland called in the administrators. What Were You Thinking is one of his first projects since saying goodbye to his label.
