London-based Serbian designer Roksanda Ilinčić has teamed up with activewear behemoth Lululemon to create a capsule collection of athleisurewear.

Ilinčić, who’s dressed everyone from the Duchess of Cambridge and Michelle Obama to Tilda Swinton, Rachel McAdams and Lady Gaga, is known for her luxurious fabrics, clean lines and unrivalled colour palettes.

And now, she’s applied her bold, feminine style with lululemon’s technical, innovative activewear to create a 17-piece collection that perfectly marries fashion and function.

With an emphasis on transitional pieces that work from ‘street-to-sweat’, Audrey Reilly, lululemon’s SVP of women’s design, says the collaboration is ‘the perfect marriage of lululemon’s athleticism and Roksanda’s modern shapes and trademark colour blocking'.

In addition to yoga mat or treadmill-ready leggings and crop tops, the collection also features puffer jackets, rash vests and midi skirts – perfect for getting you from workout to wherever you’re going in serious style.

“We’re witnessing how the boundaries of fashion have blurred, and people are wearing their sports gear everywhere. It’s a wonderful direction fashion is headed. I’ve been wearing one of the long-sleeved tops with my normal clothes, and I find it looks really refreshing. It’s fun to mix those unexpected colours and fabrics,” Illinic told Vogue.

For anyone that has reservations about the wear-your-leggings-everywhere athleisure trend (and you’re not alone), this might well be the collection to persuade you of its merits. I for one am most certainly swayed.

The first drop of the limited-edition line will be available for purchase starting Oct. 22, followed by the second drop in January 2020.
