Tommy Hilfiger goes all out for his 60s themed rock and roll inspired runway

A fake-grass lawn and The Rolling Stones - Tommy Hilfiger's SS15 show had an almost tangibly British feel, and we're already longing for the summer

As we know, Tommy Hilfiger is a big fan of an intensely themed runway, but this season for SS15 he truly excelled.

With the leggy-likes of Georgia May Jagger, Ella Richards and Kendall Jenner strutting down the festival-style catwalk, this much-anticipated show was bound to be a spectacle. But no one could have prepared us for the creative display witnessed by a lucky few last night. Unless, of course, you happen to be one of the lucky few, and received your invitation stuck to a 7" record, inside of a case covered in '60s psychedelic album art. You may have guessed the theme then. Maybe. Probably.

But for those of us mere mortals, thousands of miles from New York, we were utterly surprised. And impressed! For such a reminiscent theme, the show possessed a palatable sense of fresh modernity, and not only because of the collection.

The venue was decorated complete with flags, a stage full of drums, and a string of lights. The curved runway was covered in fake grass, creating an authentic outdoors-y feel, completely different to the chic and minimal runways we've seen so much of recently. With a Beatles and a Rolling Stones soundtrack, the f'row were left feeling entirely transported to and immersed in the '60s era.

Speaking of which, Hilfiger's front row were also classic and fresh, including the likes of Alexa Chung, Amber Le Bon, and Tali Lennox.

People seemed to manage to distract themselves from the famous faces and floral foliage, however, just enough to notice the many eye-catching and shop-able pieces sauntering down the runway. The show was full of pieces that wouldn't look at all out of place at Glasto (until, of course, they got covered in mud and the man-next-to-you's sweat - so un-chic). Busy stripes, miniscule hemlines, bikini-esque tops, extra-long scarves and ankle boots all brought back that festival-feeling, especially with the added detail of temporary-tattoo body-and-face art.

We didn't think we'd say this so soon, but we're already longing for a night back in that stuffy tent.

Providing we wake up in the '60s - obviously.
