With the resort season having turned into a tour of the world's most luxurious destinations and impressive architecture, this weekend's tour guide duties fall to Louis Vuitton.

Staging their 2017 Cruise showcase in Brazil's seaside city of Rio, it is the job of womenswear Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquiere to impress the brand's legions of fans.

And having staged his last Cruise show at the Bob Hope estate in Palm Springs - with over 800 rooms booked for the celebrities, international journalists, and clients - all eyes are on the Frenchman to impress.

The Cruise shows - an inter-season or pre-season line of ready-to-wear clothing originally meant for a brand's more seasoned jet-setters - have become known for their glamorous settings.
