Many guests at the 2018 Brit Awards chose to carry or wear a white rose in support of the Time’s Up movement against sexual misconduct and bullying.

The organisers of the Brit awards invited attendees to wear a white rose pin to the ceremony to acknowledge the entertainment industry’s fight against sexual harassment.

In January, a group of powerful Hollywood women, spearheaded by actresses Reese Witherspoon and Shonda Rhimes, signed an open letter to launch the Time's Up movement, pledging to provide $13 million in legal aid to women facing sexual harassment in the workplace.

The initiative forms part of the #MeToo movement, developed in response to allegations against disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein and other Hollywood heavyweights last year.

The Brit Awards is the latest in a series of awards ceremonies to be used as a platform for communicating the #MeToo movement’s message, that institutionalised sexual misconduct must no longer be tolerated.

At the Golden Globes in January, stars showed solidarity with the protest by following an all-black dress code, and a similar gesture was made at Sunday’s British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs).

Following in the footsteps of those at the Grammy’s, attendees at this year’s Brit Awards chose to carry white roses as they walked the red carpet at the 02 Arena.
